We’re
nearing the end of an incredible week and we couldn’t be more thankful for the
way that everything fell into place. We still have the bonfire ahead of us,
which is happening tonight and is always a highlight of SERVE, so we’re ready
for this week to get even better.
Tim
summed up the week pretty well during Covenant Night last night when he said,
“Sometimes God works in strange ways. This week he decided to take a bunch of
people who didn’t know each other, throw them together in rural Vermont, make
them do work, and expected them to get along. And guess what? It worked.” We
are in awe of the relationships that were formed this week and how much our
students grew. Going along with that is something that is often overlooked, but
our leaders have also been challenged and grown exponentially in the process.
Ask any one of them when they get back and I’m sure they’ll have some stories
for you.
The
kids have made an impact at every site they worked at and the people they
served are all incredibly thankful. They’ve made memories that will never leave
them, and I can say that as a fact since I’m a SERVE veteran myself. They
will be returning home with more than just service experience, but strengthened
relationships, changed lives, and the knowledge that God loves them and how to
love others.
